Sam McClaren Handmade Guitars

Sam McClaren Guitars

All of Sams guitars are of his own design. Sam aims to create instruments that look naturally elegant, and provide a loud, yet controlled sound, with singing trebles and strong basses. Each Guitar is made to be comfortable for the player, both in the shape and body size of the instrument, as well as the set up of the guitar.

Sams workshop is based in the North East of England, close to Yarm High Street

Only the highest quality of materials are used, which are matched together to make the perfect instrument for each customer.

All the work on his instruments are carried out by himself including the finishing processes and decorative features.

Sam only makes two guitars at a time, allowing him to concentrate on voicing each instrument to reach its full potential.

Repairs and set-ups are available on both classical and steel string guitars.

"I would like to take a moment to invite you to take a look or even better, try one of these guitars made by a talented young maker from England. I had the good fortune to meet Sam McClaren in Glasgow and tried his guitars extensively. Sam has a clear vision and already a distinguishable voice in the land of guitar making"

Jan Depreter - Professional Classical Guitarist

"I played a Sam McClaren guitar in my concert at the Ullapool Guitar Festival. Sam's guitar (steel string acoustic) combines a highly musical open and responsive sound with ease of playability; In my experience a rare combination. I didn't want to put this one down."
